3D Printed Foamex Letter Sign

3D Foamex printed signs are a lightweight, cost-effective solution for clear visual communication. The smooth PVC surface produces excellent print quality, making it ideal for logos with detailed colours or gradients. At 10mm thick, Foamex offers improved rigidity over thinner materials while remaining easy to handle and install. This product is well suited to internal environments and short-term external use where budget, speed and clarity are priorities.

Fixings:
1 × pre-applied high-bond tape to rear of letters (where applicable)
or
1 × bag of nylon locators (if specified)

Fixing using double sided tape:

Tools needed: Pencil, tape measure, spirit level, masking tape, clean damp cloth.

Check contents: Unpack carefully and lay all parts out on a clean surface. Confirm you have all letters/pieces and the installation template.

Surface check: Tape fixing is suitable for smooth, clean, dry, sound surfaces only (painted plasterboard, sealed MDF, glass, smooth panels). Avoid dusty or porous paint, flaking paint, textured walls, brick, block or rough plaster.

Clean the wall: Wipe the area with a clean damp cloth. Allow the wall to fully dry.

Position the template: Using a spirit level, position the installation template on the wall and secure it temporarily with low-tack masking tape. Check alignment and height before proceeding.

Prepare the letters: Arrange letters in the template cut-outs to confirm correct orientation and layout.

Apply letters into the template: Peel the tape liner from each letter and place it into the corresponding cut-out in the template, pressing firmly onto the wall.

Apply pressure: Press each letter firmly for 20–30 seconds to ensure good adhesion through the template.

Remove the template: Carefully peel away the masking tape and remove the template from the wall, leaving the letters in position.

Final press: Go back over each letter and apply firm, even pressure again to ensure full bond.

Fixing using locators:

Check contents: Unpack and confirm all letters/pieces and fixings are present.

Tools needed: Pencil, tape measure, spirit level, drill, appropriate drill bits, screwdriver, and a dust brush/vac.

Surface suitability: Locators can be used on many wall types, but you must use the correct plugs/fixings for the substrate (plasterboard, brick, block, concrete, timber).

Mark your layout: Mark a centre line and level line. Measure overall layout size.

Dry layout: Arrange letters to confirm spacing.

Mark fixing points: For each letter/piece, mark the locator positions on the wall. Work methodically.

Drill holes: Drill to the correct diameter and depth for the wall plugs. Remove dust from holes.

Fit plugs: Insert wall plugs flush with the wall (if using).

Fit locators: Screw locators into the wall plugs/fixings. Ensure they are straight.

Test fit: Offer the letter up to the locators to ensure alignment.

Mount letters: Push/locate the letters onto the locators as designed.

Final alignment: Step back and check level and spacing. Make minor adjustments if required.

Free Artwork Check

All orders include a free artwork check of colours sizing and format suitability for printing. If your artwork does not meet the requirements for production, we will contact you to resubmit suitable artwork. Alternatively, please see our design service where we can create your artwork in the correct formats, for a small fee.

Please note, online prices are based on common logo/artwork layouts and production methods. If submitted artwork is unusually complex or requires additional production time, we may have to adjust the price. You will always be contacted to approve any revised price or cancel the order for a full refund before production begins.

Lead times:

Lead times are estimated only, are subject to change depending on production capacity and are assuming prompt artwork approval. Orders will not proceed into production until artwork has been approved.

Delivery:

All signs are delivered by APC courier as standard. For oversized signs, we'll reach out to discuss options like pallet or dedicated vehicles. Additional fees may apply in certain cases.
